A home theatre entertainment center will usually consist of a widescreen HDTV, surround sound speakers, Audio Video Receiver, DVD player, and other optional components.  A surround sound 5.1 system consists of two rear speakers, two front speakers, one center channel (usually built into the HDTV), and one subwoofer.  A 7.1 system has two additional side speakers.
