At HomeTek, our technicians can help you design, prewire, and install a state-of-the-art security system that will safeguard the home, provide peace of mind, and meet the security needs of the homeowners.

HomeTek sells and installs DSC security equipment, recognized as the industry leader for ease of use, performance, and quality.  Depending on your needs, we can install a hard wired or wireless system.  For maximum security, the DSC wireless panel & signal is encrypted.  If anyone attempts to jam the wireless system, it will automatically activate the siren.

An effective system will typically include security contacts at perimeter doors, windows, interior motion detectors and/or glass breaks, key pads that control the system, and a security panel in the mechanical room with a back up battery and siren. Options may include panic necklace/buttons, key fobs, glass breaks, and a hi-tech photo electric smoke and heat detector that is connected to the security panel.

If the home is equipped with photo electric heat & smoke detectors, and they’re connected to the security panel, and the system is monitored, the monitoring company will immediately dispatch the fire department when the smokes are activated.  This arrangement provides the owners with 24/7 peace of mind and qualifies for discounts on homeowners insurance.

After the security equipment is installed, HomeTek will provide a free orientation on how to use and operate the security system. HomeTek does not perform monitoring services.  However, if the homeowners own the security equipment, they do not have to sign a long-term monitoring agreement.  There are a number of local monitoring companies that charge about $25 per month for monitoring services.
